The President Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria, FTAN, Dr Aliyu Badaki has stated that the body will not be left out in every tourism policy formulation and implementation in Nigeria.

In his presentation at the ongoing FTAN retreat at Kapita Klub and Apartments in Abuja, Dr Badaki stated that the Federation is committed to transparency in leadership, accountability and stronger partnership with government, stakeholders in strengthening the institution for long term sustainability.

He stated that FTAN will collaborate with all the stakeholders to change the tourism narrative in Nigeria.

FTAN President noted that under his leadership, there will be a clear national vision and direction for FTAN’s leadership term, including the drafting and validation of the Tourism Transformation Mandate 2025–2027.

He promised to always consult with the NEC, zonal leaders, and key tourism stakeholders in printing, publishing, and disseminating the Presidential Agenda Document and also to deliver Presidential Address annually at AGM with milestone updates,
secretariat support, consultancy services, financial resources for document production and AGM events.

According to him, there will be an
Executive Council Governance Strengthening Program to
enhance decision-making efficiency and cohesion within Governing Council and NEC, developing governance framework and guidelines,
conduct of quarterly NEC performance review and alignment sessions, deploying executive dashboards to monitor decisions and implementation.

At the Retreat, the exco members, Zonal Vice Presidents presented their programmes on how to move the body forward in their respective positions and zones.
