The Member representing Irepo/Orelope/Olorunsogo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. (Dr.) Prince Olaide Lateef Mohammed (POLAM), has unveiled his three-year constituency scorecard, highlighted interventions in employment, education, infrastructure, agriculture and economic empowerment since assuming office in 2023.

Mohammed presented the scorecard while addressing constituents, political leaders, traditional rulers, community stakeholders, women and youths at the 2026 Mega Empowerment Programme.

According to the lawmaker, his representation has focused on what he described as “active, accessible and result-oriented” service, with legislative and constituency interventions aimed at attracting greater federal presence to Irepo, Orelope and Olorunsogo Local Government Areas.

He listed among his legislative efforts proposals for the establishment of a Federal University of Kishi, Federal Medical Centre in Igboho and Federal College of Agriculture in Igbeti, alongside other legislative and oversight engagements at the National Assembly.
87 Federal Jobs Facilitated
Mohammed said 87 federal employment opportunities had been facilitated for constituents across various agencies and parastatals.

He identified beneficiaries and opportunities linked to the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigeria Police Force, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, National Population Commission and other federal establishments.
Education and Youth Development

On education, the lawmaker said scholarships had been awarded to constituents studying in various institutions, while more than 250 UTME forms and over 100 SSCE forms had also been provided to students across the constituency.

He further cited the facilitation of classroom blocks and other educational infrastructure in Kishi, Sooro, Igboho and Igbeti.
1,500 Solar Streetlights Installed

Mohammed identified infrastructure as another major area of intervention, saying more than 1,500 solar-powered streetlights had been installed across different locations within the constituency.

Other projects, he said, included classroom blocks, bridges, electricity infrastructure, a 300kVA transformer and low-tension reticulation in Igbeti, as well as Federal Road Safety Corps facilities and other community projects.

He also highlighted the full award of the reconstruction of the Kishi–Sooro–Igboho Federal Road as a major federal intervention pursued for the constituency.

Farmers, Women, Entrepreneurs Benefit

On empowerment, Mohammed said more than 550 farmers had received agricultural inputs, while over 800 constituents had benefited from cash grants ranging from ₦40,000 to ₦50,000.

He added that more than 85 women and youths had received sewing machines, grinding machines and water-pumping machines, while 20 new Bajaj motorcycles were distributed under the Drive-to-Own Initiative.

According to him, more than 120 youths and women also received garri processing training alongside ₦200,000 start-up capital each, while another 100-plus beneficiaries received entrepreneurship training and ₦200,000 start-up capital.

He further said more than 240 youths and women received ₦100,000 start-up grants.
New Programme Targets 1,000 Constituents

Mohammed said the 2026 Mega Empowerment Programme marked the beginning of a new five-series intervention targeting 1,000 constituents across the federal constituency.

The programme is designed to provide beneficiaries with vehicles, mini-trucks, motorcycles, deep freezers, generators, POS machines with cash and salon kits with cash.

Addressing beneficiaries, the lawmaker urged them to treat the items and financial support as productive assets capable of creating sustainable livelihoods.

“Use what you receive wisely. Make it productive. Let it become a foundation for something bigger.”

He said the objective was to enable beneficiaries to grow their businesses, support their families and contribute to the development of their communities.
“The Record Is There”

Reflecting on his representation since 2023, Mohammed said the performance of his office should be assessed through tangible projects and the beneficiaries of various interventions.

“The record is there. The projects are there. The beneficiaries are there.”

He, however, acknowledged that challenges remained, particularly in the areas of roads, infrastructure, education and the need for more opportunities for youths, farmers, women and entrepreneurs.

Mohammed expressed appreciation to traditional rulers, religious leaders, community leaders, women, youths, party leaders and other stakeholders for their support and cooperation.

He said the 2026 Mega Empowerment Programme represented another phase of his constituency intervention agenda, with the first batch marking the commencement of the five-series programme aimed at reaching 1,000 constituents across Irepo, Orelope and Olorunsogo.
