Galaxy Backbone Limited (GBB) has reaffirmed its commitment to service excellence, improved customer experience and reliable digital services, announcing that its newly secured data centre facility in Lagos will strengthen its capacity to support Nigeria’s digital transformation.
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of GBB, Prof. Ibrahim
Adeyanju, disclosed this during a breakfast engagement with customers and partners to commemorate Customer Service Week 2026, themed “Going the Extra Mile.”
The event, held on Friday, October 9, provided a platform for the organisation to appreciate its customers for their continued trust and partnership, while discussing service delivery challenges, customer expectations and opportunities to improve the quality and reliability of its digital services.
Adeyanju described customers as central to the organisation’s growth and operations, noting that their feedback, expectations and trust continue to shape its commitment to service excellence.
He explained that going the extra mile involves more than providing digital infrastructure, stressing that it also requires prompt support and effective responses whenever technical challenges arise.
The GBB chief executive acknowledged the contributions of the organisation’s engineers, operations teams and customer-facing personnel, who work beyond routine expectations to resolve technical issues, maintain service standards and address customers’ concerns.
According to him, customer engagements over the past three years have provided valuable insights that have helped the organisation identify service gaps, improve operational processes and strengthen service delivery.
He noted that public sector institutions depend on GBB’s critical digital infrastructure to support government operations, while private sector partners continue to challenge the organisation to innovate and respond to changing needs.
On infrastructure development, Adeyanju said the newly secured Lagos data centre facility would enhance GBB’s capacity to support data sovereignty, strengthen customer confidence and improve the resilience and sustainability of its services.
He urged customers and partners to maintain open communication with the organisation, emphasising that honest and constructive feedback remains essential to identifying shortcomings, driving innovation and improving service quality.
Adeyanju assured stakeholders that customer satisfaction would remain a priority beyond the annual Customer Service Week celebration.
Earlier, the welcome address of the Executive Director, Customer Centricity and Marketing, Olusegun Olulade, was delivered on his behalf by the Group Head of Human Resources, Olugbenga Omoniyi.
Olulade described customer centricity as a fundamental organisational value rather than a theme reserved for the annual celebration.
He noted that technology, infrastructure and digital solutions could only deliver meaningful results when they addressed real challenges and created value for the individuals and organisations they served.
He also highlighted GBB’s digital platforms, including GovMail, 1Gov Cloud and the Government Service Portal (GSP), as key components of its efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s digital sovereignty, support the secure management of government digital assets and improve public service delivery.
“Ultimately, customer centricity is not just about saying that the customer is important, but most importantly, it’s about making decisions every day that demonstrate that the customers truly matter,” Olulade said.
The engagement brought together customers and partners to share experiences, provide feedback, discuss service delivery challenges and recommend practical measures for improving customer satisfaction.
The interactive session reinforced the importance of collaboration and open communication in building lasting partnerships and ensuring that services respond effectively to stakeholders’ evolving needs.
