The Director General, National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA). Dr. Matthew Olamide Adepoju said Nigerians are among the top 10 intelligent nations in the world.
Dr. Matthew disclosed this when Young Entrepreneurs and Innovators Foundation (YEI Foundation) in partnership with the GreenLand News Magazine paid a visit to him in his Abuja’s office recently.
Dr Matthew Olamide Adepoju, used the opportunity to unearth some scientific breakthroughs Nigeria has achieved so far.
According to him, “Nigerians should be proud of somethings within the platform. other African countries have not achieved what we have achieved. We are the only African country that have launched communication satellite. Other African countries have only launched nano satellite.”
Dr Adepoju maintained that communication satellites are higher than nano satellites.
“20 to 30 nano satellites may make up 50% communication satellite .
He reiterated that most countries prioritize their youths in technological advancements.
In his words,
“Most countries of the world come up with technological advancements by putting on policy that focus attention on the youths.
“The idea is to help the youths resist the urge to internet fraud and other negative side rather focus on the positive side of technology. The intellect and energy of those youths are better utilize in a positive way,”
He appreciated YEI Foundation and GreenLand News Magazine for the visit, saying that the ideology and vision is in line with the mandate of the agency and that NASRDA will work with the NGO on institutional level.
Earlier the representative of the President, the Coordinator Peace Ifoeshi of Young Entrepreneurs and Innovators Foundation (YEI Foundation) in partnership with the GreenLand News Magazine and Online platforms said that they were on advocacy visit and awareness campaign for the upcoming International Women’s Day (IWD), which is fast approaching.
The theme for the 2025 IWD is #Accelerate Action# “Step Forward in Solidarity for International Women’s Day.” The theme focuses on; Women Empowerment, health, decision making, leadership, Education, training, and more.
In line with this, the Foundation has planned to give scholarships to at least 1000 girls from various secondary schools across the country, and to train 2000 women in ICT to mark the upcoming International Women’s Day.
“In the past, the foundation has trained youths in different skills such as: website development, basic ICT, Confectioneries, beads making, tailoring, shoe making and others.
