The Senator representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District, Senator, Aminu Iya Abbas has explained that the internal crisis that Peoples Democratic Party was faced with in the position of a Secretary was a family affair that it has been settled amicably by the party.
The Senator made this known during an interactive session with journalists in his office, Abuja.
He expressed that the PDP is coming out stronger and the party will be better than before.
He said all they are trying to do is to reposition the party, work towards victory in 2027 general elections
The Senator said despite the crisis, PDP is still a better party than the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) saying, “Nigeria was better under PDP than what is happening now.”
” I was first a card carrying member of the APC before i Decamped to PDP.
“ This broom they are carrying, I carried the broom in my State, it couldn’t sweep well.
“Politics is local, at the end , we would go back to our places.
Speaking on the ongoing defections in the country, he said PDP is a popular political party, there is nothing to worry about that it will not affect the victory of the party come 2027.
Senator Abbas who is also the Chairman Senate Committee on Science and Technology decried poor budget allocation for science and technology in 2024 budget
He called on the Government to pay more attention and devope science and technology sector like other nations of the world.
